Ensuring the proper implementation of operational risk and fraud prevention policy including risk register, providing support and to branches on operational risk and risk register. Ensuring comprehensive analysis of operational risk related data from across all bank’s operation.
Duties and Responsibilities
Operational Risk Management
Assist the Operational Risk Manager in implementation of Operational Risk Management framework.
Coordinate the period reporting on Operational Risk by the Bank Units (Departments and Branches).
Assist the Operational Risk Manager in identifying Key Risk Indicators in internal processes.
Perform the analyses of root cause of identified Risk Events to recommend improvements and prevent these Risk Events from re-occurring in future.
Ensure a monthly review and reporting of Operational Risk Events notified to the Unit.
Maintain the Operational Risk and Fraud register, and carry out all responsibilities assigned to the Operational Risk and Fraud Unit in the Fraud Prevention Policy.
Develop operational risk tools for the improvement of the performances.
Ability and willingness to travel to, and work at, various locations where FMFB-A has branch, if required.
Data Analysis and Reporting
Perform the identification and impact assessment of risks affecting the bank’s operations.
Collects data on operational risk incidents and incurred loss.
Analyses critically the incidents of operational risk and their impact. Draws conclusions and recommendations from the analysed data.
Provides input to root causes analyses of the essential risks the bank is facing.
Excellent analytical thinking and attention to details.
Can-do attitude, with problem-solving abilities.
Able to draw conclusions and communicate his/her concerns in a clear and concise manner to his/her line manager.
Quick learner who can rapidly perform all aspects of the job with limited supervision and training.
Good organizer with self-planning and problem-solving skills.
Good communication and reporting / presentation skills.
Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned by line manager if such needs arise.
The position requires bachelor degree with over 2 years of relevant work experience e.g. in banking or MFIs, internal audit, finance or risk assessment; preference will be given to candidates with previous experience in risk management. Risk management certificates shall be appreciated.
The ideal job holder shall possess
Good knowledge (or willingness to learn) of the financial analyses principles and indexes.
Good knowledge (or willingness to learn) of the DAB and Basle Committee rules and regulations pertaining to prudential risk management.
Good knowledge of the bank’s policies, and a critical approach to improve them.
Good team working skills.
Good computer skills, especially Excel.
English fluency in both spoken and written.
